It was October 31, 2003. Nine friends and I were having a Halloween party. We live close to Gettysburg, and we were looking forward to getting scared. We decided to go for a walk up the road to a nearby forest. Once there we all decided to partner up and run through the woods. Because it was pitch black we each had walkie-talkies. The person I was with decided to stop for a minute, and as we were resting we heard three men talking. We thought it was just the walkie-talkie on the wrong station, but when we checked this wasn‘t the case. We split! Several minutes later we heard a high-pitched scream.

We hightailed it back to the group and asked if they heard it. It seems we were the only two to experience it, but by now the entire group was freaked. We decided to all stay together in one spot for the rest of the night. A half an hour later we heard drumming along with commands being shouted out. That was the breaking point - no more waiting for a scare; we ran out of there screaming! Later on we came to the conclusion that we had been visited by the ghosts of soldiers walking through the woods to Gettysburg. Since then, many of us have walked past those woods and heard drumming- believe or not!
